Workplace for visual artist: Open Call for Applications
•Application Deadline
01.09.2010
As a workplace for visual artists, FLACC creates the conceptual, organisational and technical conditions for realising unique artists’ projects. Every year, FLACC selects ten artists to set up a new project.
The selection is done on the basis of artistic criteria, in consultation with an external advisory committee. The ways in which artists challenge the notion of ‘workplace’ and redefine it through the qualities of their work also play a role. In each annual selection, FLACC aims to strike a balance between national and international artists, between beginners and experienced artists, and between autonomous art and/or research projects and projects that deal with the historical, geographical or social context of the workplace in more concrete terms . In consultation with each artist, a specific project is set up, tailored to the organisation and with a definite budget and timing.
FLACC is a non-profit association, recognised and subsidised by the national, regional and local authorities.

Narrative / Identity - Open Call for group exhibition
•Application Deadline
15.09.2010
For the first group show of 2011, February 3 – March 12, curated by Nicole Bebout and Sonja Hofstetter, The AC Institute seeks to investigate the ways in which narrative is used by contemporary artists to construct or demolish our ideas of self and other. Whether through guerrilla-like disruption, ambiguity or fantasy inspired story-telling, we are seeking artists who see narrative as essential to their artistic identity.
Focusing on experimental, installation, and new media work, AC seeks submissions from contemporary artists, and others, working in any medium. Artists are encouraged to submit work either already existing or as-yet unrealized that addresses the interlocking questions of narrative and identity; either at the level of social practice, contemporary representation, or both.
Email submissions should be sent to submissions@artcurrents.org

Meridian | Urban. Curatorial Projects on Health
•Application Deadline
17.09.2010
Haus der Kulturen der Welt invites up-and-coming curators to enter their proposals for site-specific art projects in public space for Meridian | Urban. Curatorial Projects on Health.
Meridians – imaginary lines running from pole to pole, connecting one region with another – help us map the world. In traditional Asian medicine, the meridian system is an invisible network that provides the body with vital energy. Although Western science has not yet acknowledged its existence, the meridian is our starting point for targeting questions of balance and imbalance.
