Applications are open for a residence for artists coming from all over the world - a place in the village of JiuXian in China – that, during 30 days will discuss the importance of art in the world today and tomorrow, boosting the sustainability and cultural tourism in the area, as well as innovation and welfare of the inhabitants of this ancient village.
The six artists selected will be joining other artists from around the world in this residence. Travel expenses, catering, accommodation and materials for artistic production will be supported by the organization within the 30 days (from November 15 to December 15) that follows the workshop. Some of the work will be presented in a collective exhibition in Portugal, at a time and place to be designated and the remaining work will be part of a museum in JiuXian.

Duende Studios

Stichting Duende Aktiviteiten offers three guest studios for artists from The Netherlands and abroad. Two of these studios are programmed and managed by a commission formed by Duende volunteer members. Studios (60 – 90 m2, 4,5 meters high) and accommodation (30 – 50 m2 adjacent rooms to the studios) are available to artists from all over the world for a period of three months.
Guest artists are offered the possibility to present their work in public. This usually takes place during the open studio days at the end of the residency. Some other ways of public presentations can be discussed according to the guest’s interests.

A MacDowell Fellowship, or residency, consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for up to eight weeks. There are no residency fees.
The Colony accepts applications from artists working in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts.
A nonrefundable processing fee of $20 (U.S.) is required with each application.
Artists collaborating on a project must submit individual application forms and appropriate work samples, along with a joint description of the work they intend to do at the Colony.

Residency Studio A
For 2010 artist/organisers from around the world are encouraged to apply.The studio is available to use free of charge from March 1st through November 30th. Residency periods can be arranged from 2 to 6 months. People working in all disciplines of art, e.g. visual, performing and media arts, music, criticism, research etc are encouraged to apply. Application deadline for 2010 AIR period is September 15th 2009.
Project Studio B
This studio is rented out for shorter and mid-term residencies and/or artistic projects (1 week up to 3 months).
