The Selected Artist will be announced in the 3rd Ward Publication with a 2-page spread and will receive:

Residency at the Artists’ Enclave at I-Park

In 2009 I-Park will host an international environmental art program on the grounds of its 450-acre artists’ community in rural East Haddam, Connecticut (U.S.). The program will consist of two, two-week focusedresidency sessions comprised of environmental artists, landscape/garden designers and other visual, music and performance-based artists whose work engages the natural landscape. A public event will be scheduled for September 19, 2009 to showcase the work.
The two identical residency sessions will be scheduled for:
August 17 – August 31, 2009 -September 2 – September 16, 2009
Artists/designers are invited to submit proposals for site-specific works on or about the land. Twelve artists/designers will be selected by a three-person independent panel. Artists will be awarded a grant of $1,200 plus up to an additional $1,000 for reimbursement of travel costs and/or materials.

Art Omi International Artists Residency

The International Artists Residency is a three week residency program for visual artists in upstate New York. Art Omi provides artists with a studio, living quarters and meals at no cost to the artists. However, artists are responsible for their travel and art materials. The Residency takes place for three weeks during the month of July. Each year, a different critic-in-residence lives on campus with the artists: they lead discussions and make one-on-one studio visits. At the end of the residency, we host an Open Studios day open to the general public.

Art Omi provides its residents with an opportunity to:

Kunst-Stoffe - Centre for re-useable Materials, Berlin / Germany,offers residencies to artists of all disciplines. Openings are from May 1 - September 30.
The residency includes free housing for the period of stay and offers work space at Kunst-Stoffe.Living and travelling expenses have to be covered by the participant. Kunst-Stoffe will provide support in the acquisition of travel grants if desired.
Interested artists may send an electronic application, consisting of the following:
- A letter of intend describing applicants interest in working in the context of Kunst-Stoffe
- Documentation of no more than two previous projects
- A project proposal, outlining the activities planned in Berlin
- A proposed time schedule (preferred time slot and length of stay)

New Zero Art Space Myanmar

New Zero Art Space, Yangon, Myanmar invites visual (and performance) artists from Asia, Europe and North America to the first Artist-in-Residency Program in Myanmar.

The program is an exceptional opportunity to support artists from around the world who have a keen interest in Myanmar art and culture. The philosophy of the program also encourages an ongoing exchange with the art and culture from the artist’s host country.

The residency is one month in the heart of Yangon. New Zero Art Space will provide one round trip air ticket, accommodation and living expenses during the residency. The residency will also include a studio and exhibition space.
