Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral: Call for Applications
I. International Residence Scholarships
Six residence scholarships will be awarded to international visual artists. Each scholarship lasts 6 months. All of them begin in April 2011 and are endowed with 1,200 € per month and include free accommodation at the Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral.
Eligible to apply for the international residence scholarships at the Kuenstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral are international artists of any age from the disciplines painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, printmaking, design, photography, video, new media and landscape art.

The prize winners will be selected by an international jury in the beginning of
September 2010 and will receive a notice in writing. The results of the jury
meeting will also be available on KulturKontakt Austria’s webpage

The application should include:
• a curriculum vitae and documentation of artistic development (in English or
German; age limit: 35 years)
• 5 – 10 examples of work in the form of photos, folders and/or catalogues
(max. size A3); no originals
Artwork in the fields of painting, drawing, photography: reproductions in the
form of photos and/or catalogues (Format: maximum A3). No slides, CDs or DVDs!
Artwork in the fields of video and installation: Use video DVDs! (Maximum
duration of presentation: 10 minutes)

insurance, a monthly grant of € 1.000,- as well as an exhibition of the artist’s
work at the end of the three-months period. Visual artists up to the age of 35
from the following countries in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe are eligible to apply: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria,
Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine.

Radar is an innovative programme of digital artists' residencies in public libraries across the county of Lancashire, in the North West of England.
We are currently seeking an international artist (someone who's main home is outside of the UK), to become Radar's second artist in residence, based at the Harris Library, Preston, Lancashire, UK.
The goal of Radar is to explore relationships between the virtual and physical cultural experiences on offer and potentially available through libraries; to consider the role of libraries as free and accessible public gateways to culture, and the implications of the evolution of digital culture on this core function. Resident artists are expected to do this through engaging collaboratively and creatively with library users and staff.

RESÒ is the new international residency exchange network for art residencies and educational programs and is based in Italy’s Piedmont region. It is conceived as a 3-year project involving three institutions in Italy and three based each in Turkey, Egypt and Brazil.
You are eligible to apply if you are based in Egypt, Turkey or Brazil, regardless of nationality.
RESÒ’s goal is to foster new relationships, cultural exchange and creative production, as well as linking artists with the leading contemporary arts institutions in Piedmont, Istanbul, Cairo and Rio de Janeiro.
RESÒ is dedicated to supporting its resident artists in the creation of new works of art through 6-9 week long research-residencies. All of the artists’ expenses are covered, including airfare. They will be introduced to the local art scene through a program of meetings, studio visits and talks. The selected artists are expected to hold public presentations of their work towards the end of their residency.
