Annmarie’s residency program provides a serene place on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay for visual, musical, and literary artists to create works that address ecological issues and/or inspire community involvement. Artists have access to a private studio space in addition to a variety of classroom studios and garage spaces, a waterfront, and fifty acres of forest and field. Residencies are meant to focus on merging the arts and the environment and should include the involvement of our local community to some capacity.

Within our four reused spaces, we have been celebrating the arts and empowering the lives of over 200 local and 30 international artists, with much sharing across communities, collaborating regional and exchanging international.
Since 2009, Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) has launched an 'Emerging Artists Program, to serve the local and international cultural practitioners, by providing one-month free exhibition or residency space.
After the successful results in 2009 and 2010, we are very happy to announce the open call of 2011. We'll again provide 6 opportunities for, exhibition space, production residency, visiting residency, and/or curatorial research for 2011. We especially welcome applicants working in any of these three fields: cross discipline arts, ecology and environment, and community engagement projects.

This Studio Program takes place in the Carriage House at the Islip Art Museum. The galleries are transformed into working space during the winter months. 3 artists will be selected who wish to use the space as a studio from February though April, 2011 (3 months). Each artist will be given a large, private working area with 24-hour access to the building. The Museum wants to give artists an opportunity to work on demanding projects that would normally be difficult to do without the space offered by the Carriage House.

Incepted in 2010 under the cooperation with Futura Prague and the Triangle Arts Association in Brooklyn the VARP in New York program facilitates artist residencies for visual artists from the Visegrad Group (V4) countries in New York City. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their previous work, their potential contribution to the residency stay in New York, as well as the potential benefit they can draw from the program. One artist per V4 country will be selected.
Visual artists who are citizens of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia can apply.
Each residency is intended for 3 months.
Czech and Hungarian citizens take up their residencies between March 1 and May 31.
Polish and Slovak citizens between September 1 and November 30.
