SUMU Artist-in-Residence program in Turku
Arte Artists' Association's Residency SUMU offers one- to three-month residencies in 2011 to new media artists, working in the intersection of new technologies and contemporary art. This includes performance art and all types of new media: sound art, video art, installations, etc. Artists can apply to our residence once a year with an individual submission, which should include CV, samples of recent work and a project plan.
The residence is located in Turku, in the South-western coast of Finland. Artists are provided with free accommodation and studio. The artists must fund all their living expenses including food and transportation. Arte can help the artists with material costs up to 200 euros depending on the application.
Deadline:
April 30th 2010 (postmark). Session dates: the 1st half of the year 2011.

The project that is open to artists (under the age of 35) from all countries will take place at the castle of the town Lendava; its gallery space and print making studio, from 7th to 17th of July 2010.

LIFT - INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCIES 2010 / 2011

The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is seeking applications from international artists for 4–6 week individual production residencies to take place between fall 2010 and summer 2011. LIFT is a member-driven non-profit organization that provides affordable access to equipment, education and community for those who want to make film based works, out of a passion for, and commitment to, the practice of filmmaking. We support a wide range of production formats and digital editing, optical printers; contact printers; animation stands; a darkroom and more. Toronto also offers a wide range of lab facilities, a large pool of experienced technicians and talent, a vibrant film community and a dynamic arts environment.
The maximum cash funding for projects is $3,000 (CND) for travel, accommodation and per diems. Equipment and facilities will be provided by LIFT to a maximum of $3,000 (CDN), LIFT equipment rates can be found at http://www.lift.on.ca/mt/equiprates.html.
The artist is responsible for the costs of all film stock, chemicals, lab fees and other expendables. Proposals are submitted on the understanding that the project’s execution is contingent on funding yet to be secured.
Submissions must be received no later than Monday, April 19, 2010.

During the 8-week campament d´art 2010 (June and July), six selected artists working in the area of Pantocrator Project Space (La Pan, Barcelona).
These artists will exhibit and create new work in the gallery as their studio.
The gallery is open to the public to interact with artists and see work in progress. Curators of prestige in Barcelona will visit the gallery to review artists work and advise them at the end of 8 weeks of residence in refugee campament d'art.
