Artists' grants for work at residence: Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf

The Finnish Cultural Foundation annually awards four grants for four to five months of work while in residence at Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf in Germany.

Applications are limited to the following fields

-literature or translating German literature
-music
-visual arts
-research in humanities

Each grant includes accommodation in a single room, working space, full board and €1 500 per month. Applicants can specify in their application a preference for work period (1 February - 30 November 2013) and length of stay (4 or 5 months).

Artists' grants for work at residence: Hôtel Chevillon

The Finnish Cultural Foundation annually awards three grants for six months of work at the Hôtel Chevillon residential centre for artists in France. The grant for work in residence includes €12 000 in addition to accommodation and working space.

Grants are awarded to one representative of the visual arts and one author or translator of French literature for the working period 1 February - 31 July 2013.

We have capacities of 1-4 persons per registration so you can apply as a crew, project or duo. Be our guests in the heart of Mülheim an der Ruhr (5 min. walk to the Ruhr). You’ll reside in an apartment with a big kitchen, a living room and several bedrooms. We are covering the travel expenses, catering, apartment and studio. We take care of our guests and organize almost everything from technical details to events and expeditions through the Ruhrgebiet.

SHINY TOYS is a transdisciplinary art organization founded in 2010, the basis of our activity it is building a platform focusing on the production of new audiovisual performances and installations, providing educational workshops and creating publications as well as initiating a large number of multidisciplinary events

The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Residencies are free and one year long, starting on April 1st and October 1st each year, and they take place in the shared Artists’ Studio, including the solvent/etching area and the darkroom.

Keyholders work independently, in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary artists. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; print-making skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking techniques is available for new Keyholders. Technical assistance is not included in the program, but is available at additional cost.

Asialink Arts Residency Program 2013

Asialink residencies are professional development opportunities rather than specific project grants. Each year the Asialink Arts Residency Program sends approximately 30 Australian writers, performers, artists and arts managers to undertake residencies in Asia. Since its inception in 1991 the program has sent more than 680 people to host organisations in over 20 countries.
A travel grant of up to $12,000 for three months is provided to each resident to assist with airfares, accommodation, living expenses, materials and production costs. While organising accommodation is the responsibility of the resident, where possible assistance will be provided by the host organisation.

Call for artists residency: Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen

These stays go along with monthly stipends and can last as long as four months in total. The fellows can work highly focused during this period of time in the Foundation Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen (NRW, Germany) studios, apartments and flats on their respective art, book or score projects. Application for the artist in residence stays is internationally open. There is no limit of age existent.
Grants for visual arts, new media art, interdisciplinary projects, literature and composition will be awarded each year. The monthly stipend amounts to 1025,- Euros. An amount for the operating expenses of the apartments or studios of about 100,- to 200,- Euros has to be payed of this.

SUMU artist-in-residence programme offers one- to three-month residencies to artists working in the intersection of new technologies and contemporary art. In Autumn 2013, the residency opportunity is directed specifically to creative professionals working with the broad concept of sound.

SUMU is an artist residency run by the ARTE Artists’ Association in Turku, Finland. ARTE’s aim is to promote contemporary art in the city, as well as improve the professional, social and economical benefits of the artists. SUMU, founded in 2006, is the first new media residency in Finland.

As part of its residency program, K3 provides three eight-month residencies per season to choreographers, who are currently at the beginning of the careers, but have already produced some choreographic work of their own. The residencies usually begin around the beginning or middle of August and run until end of March / beginning of April.

The residency program is one-of-a-kind because of its length of eight months and is closely linked to the other courses and professional training programs offered by K3. The residency includes mentoring and dramaturgical, technical and production related support. It moreover links the projects proposed by the three resident choreographers closely to the various other ongoing K3 programs.

The 2013-2014 Berlin Prize Competition

The Academy welcomes emerging as well as established scholars, writers, and professionals who wish to engage in independent study in Berlin. Around two dozen Berlin Prizes are conferred annually.
Fellowships are typically awarded for an academic semester or, in some cases, for an entire academic year. Only the Bosch Fellowships in Public Policy may be for shorter stays of six to eight weeks. Fellowship benefits include round-trip airfare, housing at the Academy, partial board, and a stipend of $5,000 per month. The Academy’s furnished apartments at the Hans Arnhold Center are suitable for individuals and couples; accommodations are available for families with children at the Hans Arnhold Center or at nearby apartments. All fellows are expected to reside at the Hans Arnhold Center during the entire term of the award.
Fellowships are restricted to candidates based permanently in the US.

Pro Artibus AiR program

The aim of the new Pro Artibus AiR program is to creatively and critically explore and analyze the use of the shared public room, with the own place of operations Ekenäs in Raseborg as the starting point. Public art projects that have been implemented in this small and picturesque Finland-Swedish town have engaged the townspeople during the recent years. Now the Pro Artibus Foundation wishes, through art productions with Nordic artists in cooperation with local actors and the local population, to deepen the discussion on contemporary art in the public room. The residence program is targeted at well established Nordic artists and curators who show an interest of carrying out place-specific art projects in a public environment.

The planning of the residence program is of a long-term character and the first artists in residence will participate in the definition of the structure and formulation of the program. The Pro Artibus AiR program accepts 4-5 artists in residence in 2013. The residence period lasts 2-3 months.
The Pro Artibus Foundation offers the artists in residence a large furnished apartment at the campus of the Novia University of Applied Sciences in Ekenäs. A daily subsistence allowance of 36 EUR for 5 days/week is paid for the residence period and the trip to Ekenäs is compensated according to the most inexpensive form of transport. In addition to this the foundation offers a small production budget.
