This residency is a collaborative project between the Arts Council of Wales, Torfaen County Borough Council, Intersections, and Addo.
We are inviting applications from artists with a collaborative/participative approach to undertake a 6-month residency in Pontypool. Hosted by Torfaen County Borough Council’s Strategic Regeneration Team and jointly funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Torfaen County Borough Council, the residency offers the opportunity for an artist to develop their practice working with a wide range of Stakeholders involved in the regeneration of an historic market town and to contribute to a longer developmental process that will both critique existing arts and regeneration practice, and explore and develop new strategies for engaging artists within the regeneration of the area.

CAT is inviting applications from, both UK and international artists working in film, photography or digital media, who wish to develop their practice through working at the Centre for Alternative Technology for a period of twelve months by engaging with its research projects and its community of staff. The residency offers the opportunity for an artist to access time and space away from their usual practice to work in the context of a cutting edge research project. It will provide time to absorb the cultural implications of CAT’s Zero Carbon Britain (ZCB) work, both through the findings of work to date, and in joining the team of researchers during the current phase of their investigation. It will also allow the artist to explore and engage with the wider learning context offered through CAT’s ‘living laboratory’ of hands-on projects. The artist will be paid £24,000 in four instalments. This fee is inclusive of all travel costs, living expenses, and studio equipment and materials.
CAT is an education and visitor centre which demonstrates practical solutions for sustainability. We cover all aspects of green living: environmental building, eco-sanitation, woodland management, renewable energy, energy efficiency and organic growing.

As part of the a.i.r. futura residency program, the Center for Contemporary Art FUTURA is pleased to announce an open call for three month residency stays for visual artists. In the first round five artists will be selected for every destination by a committee of FUTURA deputies. In the second round respective organization select on candidate from the shortlist provided.The residency is guaranteed only if selected artist succeeds in the grant application of the International Visegrad Fund. In case of not being succesful in receiving this grant, final decision about realising the residency stay lies upon the partner organisation.
The grant is a scholarship of 2250 Euros, which is to cover his/her per diem, travel and production budget. Accommodation, studio and assistence is provided from respective organizations.

The FUTURA Centre for Contemporary Art is a three-floor exhibition space with a total area of 1,000 m² located in Prague's Smíchov quarter. Work from numerous renowned and internationally respected artists from abroad as well as from the Czech Republic has been presented here since 2003. During its relatively short existence the FUTURA Centre has put on dozens of exhibitions with international content using its own curatorial personnel, as well as in cooperation with other galleries, institutions or guest curators.
Our goal is to build in Prague a space open for the presentation of quality projects of various media - from Czech and foreign artists, whether they be already acknowledged figures or young beginners, in a constructive inter-generational dialogue. FUTURA's spaces, created following the renovation of a former small factory, are extremely diverse and offer both classical minimalist “white cube” spaces as well as atypical spaces suitable for site-specific installations.
