P.A.I.R. (Portable Artist in Residence) - Landscape Library - Call for artists/writers/composers/researchers and architects March – October 2013

Accommodation:
Two six-metre containers. One for living, one for working. Some tools and books.
Electricity by solar panels, 600 litre of fresh water, a wood-burning stove and
wood to make a fire. Technical assistance is available from the PeergrouP.
It must be stressed that the P.A.I.R. is not only a workshop but also place of
residence. During the whole period, you will be living in the P.A.I.R. and be
responsible for the accommodation and its surroundings. Be a good host to any
visitors.

Send us your project proposal and documentation by postal mail, relating to the
theme Landscape Library. Documentation will not be send in return.

P.A.I.R. pays the following expenses per project: living, material and travel:
€3000,-

The P.A.I.R.-project promotes artistic social commitment while focusing attention on
humans and their surroundings. In 2013, the P.A.I.R.’s fifth year, the theme is Landscape Library. The P.A.I.R. will again be visiting three different locations to meet local inhabitants and to investigate their surroundings.

Residencies Overview
At the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, each resident artist will receive the following:

Salary, benefits, and special research staff status at Carnegie Mellon University;
Housing, travel, and relocation assistance (as necessary);
Computer equipment, laboratory supplies, and office supplies;
Dedicated workspace and access to fabrication studios, electronics workshops, etc.
Project funds to be used for skilled consultants equipment and technical supplies;
Logistical support for exhibition and presentation;
IT Support (networking, printing, operating system and software assistance);
Administrative support for purchasing, travel, and other logistics.

The STUDIO has received a $30,000 NEA Art Works grant to support artist residencies that emphasize the creation of work in new media arts and emerging art forms. With this funding, the STUDIO will offer approximately five residencies at our arts-research laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University, an environment enriched by world-class science and engineering departments. The duration of these residencies is in the expected range of 10 to 100 days, with one month as the anticipated average, and expected gross budgets of approximately $6000.

We seek artists whose work represents exciting new modes of artistic production – who innovate through the simultaneous production of new culture and new knowledge. Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents.

RE-DIRECTING: EAST Open Call for Art Professionals to take part in residencies at The A-I-R Laboratory, CCA Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw

The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and the City of Warsaw invite art professionals: curators, organisers, researchers and managers to apply for one-month long residencies in frames of Artists-In-Residence Laboratory programme at the CCA Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. The A-I-R Laboratory has been organizing an international residency programme at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw since 2002. The notion of "RE-DIRECTING" refers here to a need to facilitate collaborations with art initiatives from regions with which the A-I-R Laboratory hasn't had an opportunity to collaborate so far. This open call is the first phase of the project, and will shortly be followed by artistic residencies and small exhibitions. These will be jointly prepared by the invited art professionals and CCA's curators on the basis of mutual recognition and research into the respective artistic and socio-political contexts ...

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Moldova, Oman, Palestine, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen.

A month long residencies in April, May, June 2013.

Submission deadline: 28.02.2013.

We will be offering:
- Individual living space connected with the working space
- A grant of 3000 PLN / approx. 1000 USD
- Travel costs reimbursement
- Organizing customised programme and study visits in Warsaw and beyond.
