For the first time, the Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin will also participate
in the 15th Fête de la Musique with an open air stage on Schlossplatz.
That fine artists along with their professional surroundings not only master
their own discipline but also love to make and play music is something
they were able to successfully demonstrate on a regular basis in the
Montags Bar. On the occasion of this year’s Fête de la Musique,
we present an explosive line-up of “artists’ music”:
6 pm and in between DJ Jeep (Germany)
7 pm Egill Sæbjörnsson (Island)
8 pm Dominique (Australia, Germany)
9 pm Asia Today (Great Britain)

Klasse der Kurt-Löwenstein-Schule in Berlin Neukölln, ist das Projekt Lost in Translation am 11.05. mit einem abschließenden Live- Fotoshooting zu Ende gegangen: Im Kotti-Shop, einem neuen Projektraum am Kottbusser Tor, der nachbarschaftlichen Austausch durch eine kollaborative Praxis fördert, standen die Türen einen Tag offen: Passanten, eingeladene Gäste und Mitschüler oder Nachbarn waren eingeladen, sich von den Jugendlichen inszenieren und fotografieren zu lassen.

Diese nicht kategorisierten Elemente des öffentlichen Raumes werden hier als Raumprothesen gekennzeichnet und damit als entwurfswürdig deklariert.
Als schwer kategorisierbare Protagonisten spielen illegalisierte Einwanderer eine ähnliche Rolle im europäischen öffentlichen Raum. Sie sind oft gezwungen, papierlose prekäre Arbeitsverhältnisse einzugehen und so gut wie möglich unsichtbar zu bleiben. Vor allem sind sie auch kulturelle Akteure, die nur marginal und klischeehaft wahrgenommen werden, wie im Fall der vielen Straßenmusikanten Berlins. Das Projekt reflektiert und hinterfragt die Existenz und Nutzung solcher Raumprothesen und untersucht deren eigenständigen Wert als Sozialorganismus.

her directly to the Kulturpalast. If one stands in the middle of the
gallery and looks upwards, one is presented with flourishing
plasterwork within the otherwise empty room.

A group exhibition, composed by 10 indipendently conceived solo
shows, represents the exhibitional completion of a series of
interviews held by artistic director Milovan Farronato, which have
generated much interest. From April until June, at DOCVA venue at
Fabbrica del Vapore, took place five curator talks, involving ten
curators in all: Elena Bordignon and Marco Tagliafierro, Vincenzo De
Bellis and Davide Ferri, Paola Noè and Francesco Garutti, Michela
Arfiero and Simone Menegoi, Roberta Tenconi and Antonio Grulli.

A group exhibition, composed by 10 indipendently conceived solo
shows, represents the exhibitional completion of a series of
interviews held by artistic director Milovan Farronato, which have
generated much interest. From April until June, at DOCVA venue at
Fabbrica del Vapore, took place five curator talks, involving ten
curators in all: Elena Bordignon and Marco Tagliafierro, Vincenzo De
Bellis and Davide Ferri, Paola Noè and Francesco Garutti, Michela
Arfiero and Simone Menegoi, Roberta Tenconi and Antonio Grulli.
Each curator will now present a single work, in an attempt to
formalize the complexity of his own specific curatorial research, as
a further contribution to the debate upon a possibile map of some
Italian curatorial research paths, and more specifically based in
Milan.

The project called “Lapses” will be representing Turkey in the 53rd International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennial that takes place between 7 June – 22 November 2009. Under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and coordinated by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, and the curator of the exhibition is Basak Senova.
